Route description

From every direction in the Netherlands: Follow the A12 E30/E25.
Take the exit: Bunnik Odijk Wijk bij Duurstede
Follow the provincial road N229 in the direction of Wijk bij Duurstede.

Parking

It is important to note that there is unfortunately no parking space for wedding visitors surrounding the castle. Those spots are reserved for residents. Therefore, we recommend parking at the two locations listed below (including instructions on how to get to the castle from the parking lots).

Parking at the harbor

There is a harbor in the vicinity with a (small) parking lot. The address: Inundatiekanaal 6

Just before entering the residential area of Wijk bij Duurstede, you will pass a roundabout. Go straight at this randabout.
Follow the road towards the city center. After a few minutes, you will see the OTTO hotel on your left.
At this hotel, the road makes a sharp bend to the right. At this bend, turn left into the old town.
After approximately 30 meters, turn left onto the Singel. Follow this Singel (canal). The Singel ends at a T-junction on the Lekdijk.
At this T-junction, turn right and follow the dike. You'll then drive towards the Wijk bij Duurstede windmill, which you'll pass on your left at some point.
Immediately after this windmill, you'll find the parking lot at the harbor on your left. You can park your vehicle there.
Then follow the water, keeping it on your left. You'll pass a second parking lot. Continue along the dike, along Vrouwenpoortpad, until you see the castle sign.
Continue through the castle park; the lighted route is the quickest. You can enter the castle island via the drawbridge.

The parking lot at football club CDW

More parking space can be found at football club CDW. In our experience, the harbor parking space fills up quite quickly. The address: Lekdijk Oost 12

Follow the N229 to Lekdijk Oost, then turn left. Take the first left again. You can park your vehicle here.
Walk back towards Lekdijk Oost, then turn left. After approximately 300 meters, turn left onto Dijksingel.
Follow the bend to the right and then cross the pedestrian overpass.
Turn right onto Langs de Wal. Follow the signs to the castle park. You can enter the castle island via the drawbridge.
